The Catholic University of America

Online Courses

This coming fall, LIS will launch fully online classes, phasing in two OWL classes each term over the next several terms until all OWL classes will be replaced by online courses. Only the OWL classes will convert, and we will continue to hold face-to-face classes both on campus and at the Library of Congress. All enrolled students may opt to enroll in any online class offered and all current OWL students may opt to enroll in any face-to-face class offered.

With the new Online curriculum, School Library Media (SLM) students can complete their degree by taking all onlilne courses. Other students may also complete their degree requirements by taking all online courses based on this sequence. Meanwhile, students can take a practicum in DC areas or any areas of their selection. A comprehensive exam is required and taken during the last semester or after the last semester as a graduation requirement.

The updated two-year plan reflects the new plan.
