The Catholic University of America

The Accreditation Process

Welcome to the LIS Accreditation site

LIS has been fully reaccredited by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Library Association. The Committee voted in favor of full reaccreditation at its meeting during the ALA Conference, and Dean Kelley received notice on July 13, 2009, that the next accreditation review will occur in 2016.

Library and Information Science undertook a rigorous process to prepare for re-accreditation by the American Library Association in the spring of 2009. The major undertaking required systematic preparation and broad communication. The details of the process are recorded here to share news and information with our students, alumni, and other supporters. Feedback, comments, suggestions, and responses to this information are encouraged.  Please contact us.
